Your next step, made clearer
What to expect from a restoration visit
From the first assessment to a drying plan.
Before a visit
Wait for a provider to confirm an appointment and arrival window. Make sure an authorized adult can be present, and tell the provider about access issues, electrical hazards, or possible sewage contamination.
Assessment and estimate
A provider may inspect affected materials, measure moisture, and identify drying needs. Ask for a written scope of work, pricing, proof of insurance, and any locally required licenses.
Extraction and drying
If authorized, a provider may extract water and position drying equipment. Drying often requires follow-up measurements; the timeline varies by materials and extent of damage.
Repair and reconstruction
Drying is not the same as rebuilding. Clarify whether replacing drywall, flooring, or other finishes is included or requires a separate agreement.
